• IE 8 Beta 2 not yet compatible with Google toolbar

Posted on January 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

I upgraded Internet Explorer (IE) in my computer from IE 7 to IE 8 (Beta 2). Everything working fine, until I tried to install Google toolbar.

Somehow, Google toolbar is not able to be installed with IE8. I use the Bookmarks Tools of Google Toolbar so far in managing my favourite site. Having no other choice, I have to uninstalled it and reinstalled IE 7 …

Until Google Toolbar is officially supported, it is good to wait before upgrading your Internet Explorer - this is what I learned yesterday.

  • Fasting Driven Inflation

In my recently trip to Jakarta, I was lucky enough to have a chance to breaking fast or “buka puasa” together with my Muslim friends. It was really nice to wait together with them for the breaking fast moment - which is around 6pm local time. All keep waiting for the TV to announce the time so that we can start to enjoy our delicious dinner.

  • It is nice to meet the people you always work with

Posted on September 2nd, 2008 admin No comments

My daily job is related to regional support.

Having communication with people around the region through email is one of my usual tasks. However, I always felt that meeting the people I work with face to face at least once is important. After such a face-to-face communication, I will know better about the guy I am talking to through email / telephone so far.

It is time to buy myself a better chair for working @ home.

Always felt back pain after spending about 1 hour on my PC when I worked at home. This is not the case when I was in office.

I think this is a signal to me from my body. A good computer chair is necessary to work long hours at my computer. Right support and comfort is needed.

It is really very nice to see some my previous students of UTAR in Facebook recently! I just started to learn how to use Facebook after knowing that it is the number one social network site - I am really out of date :) Don’t forget to be my teacher on Facebook - I am really a beginner :)

A lot of things have changed for these few years. Do update me your latest news here if you like in the comment area.

Just an update about my story after leaving UTAR.

I joined Nanyang Polytechnic after cannot ‘tahan’ KL traffic - I really don’t like driving :)

Like UTAR, I have met a lot of nice students and lecturers there. The life in NYP is really enjoyable. During my stay in NYP, I was assigned the task to lecture my students on Cisco Systems networking and Microsoft server systems. As such, I have taken few certification exam there like - MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCSE:Security, CompTia Security+, CISSP, ITIL, CCAI and so on. • Why Redirect all post feed traffic to FeedBurner?

Posted on August 14th, 2008 admin No comments

The RSS/Atom feed offered in blogger will let your readers know the timing of your new post. However, no statistic for tracking your RSS/Atom is available.

Once you redirect your feed through Google FeedBurner, you will be able to know how many visitors subscribed to your feed. It is good to know this number as it is quite high possibilities that these subscribers will come back to visit your sites.

  • Web Hosting

Posted on August 3rd, 2008 admin No comments

Have been experiencing with web hosting for quite a number of years. Due to budget constraint, I have tried most of the free webhosting so far like Geocities, T35, AngelFire, Tripod and so on. There are sites which review and rate these services like FREE-WEBHOSTS.com. Overall it was a good start for any beginner to try to park their contents in the Internet. It is very valuable especially you do not have any budget for this. However, as you may know, there are some limitation on these free web hosting services. Most of the free them limit the size of disk space available to users. Some may have force advertisements. There is no free lunch so far :)
