Have been experiencing with web hosting for quite a number of years. Due to budget constraint, I have tried most of the free webhosting so far like Geocities, T35, AngelFire, Tripod and so on. There are sites which review and rate these services like FREE-WEBHOSTS.com. Overall it was a good start for any beginner to try to park their contents in the Internet. It is very valuable especially you do not have any budget for this. However, as you may know, there are some limitation on these free web hosting services. Most of the free them limit the size of disk space available to users. Some may have force advertisements. There is no free lunch so far :)

Recently I have registered ChengSoonGiap.com as my new domain. Have been using Google Apps for my domain name registration. It take about 5 minutes for domain registration! This is quite a good service – I can utilize Gmail provided for my domain mail service. On top of that, Google Page Creator can be use for hosting my domain web.

Anyway, as with other free webhosting services, there are some constraint too in using the Google Page. One of the problem I faced so far is there is no option for me to create sub-folder in Google Page Creator. This is one of the big disadvantage I know so far – it is difficult to organize my files there.

I am considering hosting my domain in some of the budget web hosting services like Bluehost and hostmonster. Both are from the same company. However, the monthly fees is a bit cheaper at hostmonster – which is $5.95/month. Reasons for moving to commercial systems is to get better support, more diskspaces, and more services offered.
